A vertically-integrated independent entertainment company comprised of divisions dedicated to original film production (Paragon) and home entertainment distribution (Osiris Entertainment).
Evan Crooke
Founder and Chief Executive
While such hybrid titles as writer-director are common in the film industry, it is rare that filmmakers also have direct experience in distribution. A prolific filmmaker with recognized creative prowess as a director and writer, Crooke also possesses an equally impressive background in the business of motion pictures as a financier and distribution executive.
Throughout his career with Paragon Pictures, Inc. and Osiris Entertainment, Crooke has demonstrated keen skills in the areas of acquisitions and co-productions by building an expansive film catalog through a carefully crafted and original development strategy.
The establishment of Osiris Entertainment reflects Crooke's commitment to providing the independent film community with a distribution home for their projects, run by a seasoned filmmaker whose track record as a director enables him to fully understand their unique requirements. Crooke's directorial experience led to creating Osiris as a film distribution and marketing partner that meets the needs of independent filmmakers not typically addressed by traditional distribution companies.
Crooke founded Paragon Pictures in 1997 to complement the successful release of The Killing Jar, a thriller directed by Crooke which stars Brett Cullin (Reunion, "Lost") along with Tamlyn Tomita ("Stargate Atlantis", Finding Madison) and Wes Studi (El Camino, The Hunter's Moon). Since the film's release, Osiris and Paragon have amassed a sizeable portfolio of independent titles, as well as produced a number of film projects. With the growth of Paragon as a production company, Crooke expanded into the home entertainment arena with the launch of Osiris Entertainment in 2008, appointing respected home video executive Doug Dohmen to head the label.
